First Coal Rake Flagged off from NTPC's First Coal Block at Pakhribarwadih

The movement of first coal rake of NTPC’s Pakri-Barwadih coal mine at Hazaribagh has been flagged-off by Shri Arun Jaitley Union Minister of Finance ; Shri Raghubar Das, Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Piyush Goyal Union Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal, N&RE and Mines and Jayant Sinha, Union Minister of State for Aviation, through remote control in a ceremony held at Ranchi on 16th February, 2017. Shri Gurdeep Singh CMD, NTPC, Shri Kulamani Biswal, Diretor(Finance) and Shri KK Sharma Director(Operations), were present on the occasion.
The coal mine will have ultimate capacity of 18 Million Metric Tonne per annum. About 2-3 Million Metric Tonne of coal is likely to be produced from the mine next year. Coal will be supplied to different power stations of NTPC from the mine as basket source, initially Barh Power Station of NTPC will be supplied one coal rake daily.
